6th Annual Blackwater Bicycle Festival -

May 7 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)

The Sixth Annual Blackwater Bicycle Festival will take place May 7 -- the first Saturday in May -- from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blackwater Heritage State Trail Visitor Center at 5533 Alabama St. in Milton (next to the Milton Library).  There will be many cycles to see and opportunities to test ride. Bring your cycle or creation and add to the fun! Trophies will be awarded in a Bicycle Show for a variety of categories with a $5 per bike entrance fee.  All proceeds will be used to benefit the trail. Please come enjoy celebrating bicycles with us!

The trail is ADA accessible, so we encourage participation by the physically-disabled in all trail events.

For more information, call Kevin and Elaine Dinwiddie (850-293-1874 or 850-380-3760) or the Trail Manager, Gerard Greco, at 983-5338.

Migratory Bird Walk -

April 16 (8 - 10 a.m.)

The Blackwater Heritage Trail Citizen Support Organization, in cooperation with the local chapter of the Francis Weston Audubon Society, invites the public to a Trail Migratory Bird Walk scheduled for 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16.

We will meet at the SunTrust Bank parking lot on the east side of Stewart Street just north of Highway 90 in Milton. Spring migration has arrived, so join us in a fun and educational walk down the trail to view the recent arrival of birds heading south for the winter!  Please bring your own water and binoculars if you have them.  The Blackwater Heritage State Trail is ADA accessible, and we encourage participation by the disabled in all of our events.

For more information, call Trail Manager, Gerard Greco, at 983-5338.
